Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack pushed back Monday against reports his agency spent $1.2 million in economic stimulus funds on a two-pound ham.
Vilsack said that 760,ooo pounds of ham were bought with the money. The above article also stated the Repub's sent out blast emails and screenshots of Drudge's link to Recovery.gov as if it couldn't be found on the government website and needed a screenshot. Well that can't be, because I found the exact link to Recovery.gov and posted it yestarday. Oops! upon further investigation, a screencap may NOW be secessarry as the government seems to be covering their tracks on this one. The two web pages I sited are mysteriously missing the detail that they held yestarday. Only a PIID near the bottom of the pages with the cursor hovering over it, will reveal the ham AND quantity. TWO POUNDS! NOT 760,000 lbs like they claim. Who you going to believe, their mouth? or their "paper" trail?
