Several former members of Congress say that Washington's political climate has become so hostile and poisonous over the past decade that it is undermining the government's ability to deal with major problems facing the country.

And why is it hostile? Because the Dem's have lost party and they are throwing a tantrum. Bush even tried bi-partisanism early on but was betrayed quickly.

Senate Republicans roll out social security plan. And the Dem's will say?....All together now: Nooo!!!!! That's right kids, you can bet your next paycheck on that one. And then you can bet the following check that The Party of No (or PON) will not counter with a plan of their own.

If there ever was a time to let Bush stack the Supreme Court (eminent domain) it's NOW! The scariest thing about this story is that most people have no idea what it implies. Private land ownership is the cornerstone of any free society, and it has just been taken away from ours. Yet around the water cooler, locker rooms and restaurants of America, you hear nothing. The rug has been pulled out from underneath everyone without anyone really noticing. We are all too wrapped up in the microcosms of our own lives to care about anything until it actually happens to us.
Unbelievable. I suddenly remember why I am a gun owner.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Fellow Americans,
It's appalling to observe the conduct of some of America's politicians during these important times for our nation.
Certain politicians are so interested in promoting their own political self-interest that they are willing to bring this nation down in the process.
Take Democrat Senators Dick Durbin and Pat Leahy. Senator Durbin (D-IL) accused American servicemen and women of engaging in conduct akin to the "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others."
Senator Leahy (D-VT) has taken to the TV and radio airwaves, attacking U.S. troops for the deaths of "tens of thousands of Iraqi lives that have been lost since the fall of Hussein."
What makes their conduct so deplorable is that they know they are spreading lies.
The U.S. treatment of enemy combatants is unmatched and those who have objectively reported on the conduct of U.S. Troops have reported this
. You can also read more about it RIGHT HERE.
This is part of a deliberate effort - between leftist politicians and liberal journalists to undermine America's support for our troops and the war against terrorism.
We can't sit back and allow this to happen
. We're going to fight back on the airwaves - but we need the help of every American who supports our troops.
Those of us who stand behind our troops and what they are doing have it as our duty to stand up and speak for them - to advocate on behalf of the missions they serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Our troops are NOT torturers. Our troops are not akin to the Nazi S.S. troops that orchestrated the horrific atrocities against the Jewish people. Anyone who says that are troops are acting improperly - while making the charges without corroboration or evidence - must recognize that this hurts our troops. Anyone who says we should close down the U.S. Detention Facility at Guantanamo Bay is only serving to advance the interests of those who wish America harm.
We must stand up and fight back - enough is enough of the liberal media attacking our troops and only reporting on every piece of bad news they can find.
Enough of the far-left politicians using the bully pulpit of Congress to launch their tirades condemning the U.S. military.
Those of us in the silent majority need to get off of our behinds and challenge these people in the court of public opinion.
Our production crew is right now hard at work preparing a new television ad that stands up for our troops and takes on those politicians who seek to defame them.
We want this ad shown night and day throughout the country.
The "Blame America First" crowd folks like Senator Durbin and Senator Leahy and the editorial page of the New York Times are challenging the integrity and decency of our soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen. Well - not any more - not at least without us fighting back!

Rush Limbaugh: Media Driving Backlash Against Hillary Book

Predictions that Ed Klein's new book, "The Truth About Hillary," will backfire and actually increase Sen. Clinton's popularity are coming from reporters who are trying to quash interest in Klein's revelations, top media conservative Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday.

Story Continues Below

"I think this backlash is being created by the press," Limbaugh told his radio audience, adding, "Do you not find it curious that the press is not curious about [Klein's] allegations?"

"If it causes a backlash, it's because of what the press is going to say about who's pushing this book," he predicted, "not because of anybody who's read the book and what they're saying about it."

Limbaugh called press reaction to Klein's "Truth" "a classic illustration of how the media is circling the wagons to protect Mrs. Clinton."

"There may well be a backlash," he said, but noted, "I think the press is trying to create that very backlash before it even happens."

"I think there's a mythical backlash going on right now," Limbaugh charged, noting, "You haven't heard any outrage from the American people" because the book was just released today.

Limbaugh said that if a genuine backlash against the Klein book does emerge, "It's one that's being set up by the press."

"It's very rare that you see the media circle the wagons to defend a politician," he noted. "You just don't see it, other than with the Clintons."

GOP Congressman Calls Democrats Anti-Christian

Remarks in Floor Debate Stir Protest

Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, June 21, 2005; Page A04

Business on the floor of the House was halted for 45 minutes yesterday after Rep. John N. Hostettler (R-Ind.) accused Democrats of "denigrating and demonizing Christians," prompting a furious protest from across the aisle.

The House was debating a Democratic amendment to the annual defense appropriations bill that would have required the Air Force Academy to develop a plan for preventing "coercive and abusive religious proselytizing."

Hostettler, speaking against the amendment, asserted that "the long war on Christianity in America continues today on the floor of the House of Representatives" and "continues unabated with aid and comfort to those who would eradicate any vestige of our Christian heritage being supplied by the usual suspects, the Democrats."

Spectacular Mars View This Summer
Spectacular Mars View The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again. The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m . That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this with your children and grandchildren. NO HUMAN BEING HAS EVER SEEN THIS - - AND NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN. Submitted by John P.

I’ve just watched a DVD called Veil of Deception by Mission: America It covers the topic of same sex marriage, its impact on children, their schools, and the judicial activism that threatens to make it the law of the land contrary to the popular vote.

It had one fairly graphic moment so I wouldn’t recommend that it be viewed by anyone under the age of 14. Parents may want to be present with their high school students for the purpose of explanation.

If you are one who keeps up with the news (a.k.a. Fox News and other conservative outlets), this subject matter will be of no surprise to you. As for mainstream media viewers, this expose may open some eyes.

The Veil of Deception focuses on the shocking push that the gay agenda is making on our countries youth. It shows how this is being done without parental consent. Where there are a few parents who may want their children taught that homosexual marriage and lifestyles are a normal, acceptable choice, the majority don’t. Votes within individual states show as much. However, these votes are being over-turned in the courts. Particularly poignant was a clip showing a gay author talking to a junior high schoolgay club.” Did you know that gay clubs existed in some junior high schools? Neither did I.

The question “What can be done?” remains. Already, Massachusetts schools are forming a “zero tolerance” stance on speech that disagrees with the gay agenda. If this agenda continues to proliferate, the answer is very little. If even the popular vote is overturned by liberal judges the majority has no power or voice.

To those who are new to this under-the-surface agenda, this information will be an outrage. To those who are already aware of what’s been going on, this DVD will be a valuable tool to share with friends and family who don’t. The more people who know, the more pressure can be brought to bear on our politicians and their choice of judges.

All in all, I think this DVD is an informative, well documented tool for many who believe in traditional values. However, the copy I had did not play all the way through a less expensive DVD player I tried. It did play perfectly on a more expensive one that I own.

Ten Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Centuries

William Haseltine, CEO of Human Genome Sciences, Inc., of Rockville, Maryland. He is a leading advocate for embryonic stem cells, but here's the interesting thing he said: “The routine utilization of human embryonic stem cells for medicine is 20 to 30 years hence. The timeline to commercialization is so long that I simply would not invest. You may notice that our company has not made such investments.” And what's going on in California with the taxpayers funding embryonic stem cell research is that the taxpayers are funding what the venture capitalists will not fund. And that's exactly what's going on in this city: People are trying to get the federal taxpayers to fund what the venture capitalists will not fund
