Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada flatly declared on Tuesday: “One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming.”.....When asked by a reporter if he really believed global warming caused the fires, however, Reid denied ever saying it.

Truth is, the State and local governments did a great job of handling this crisis (unlike Katrina/Louisiana). Bush's time table for interjecting and taking action is almost exactly the same as that of his action during Katrina (not that he needed to do anything).
