It's obvious why the Republican's took such a beating: they drifted so far away the Reagan/Gingrich formula that rallied so much support back in the good ol' days. Pre-Reagan styles of governing are not popular with conservatives. They were punished not for pursuing but for forgetting conservatism. Ironically, the Dem's think their win this week is a mandate for change toward socialism. They (and the public that voted for them) will quickly learn their mistake.

Dem's lied, cheated and are the cause of global warming.
From day one of Bush's presidency, he tried to reach out in a bi-partisan manner to the other side of the aisle; only to be slapped in the face at every turn. This was a concerted effort on the part of the Democratic party to regain power starting the day after Gore LOST. Now they claim to want to bring a bi-partisan spirit to Capitol Hill. I guess half the nation will believe it.
