A Hunter’s Take on Cheney’s Mistake

Like there's a good way to announce that the vice president shot someone by mistake. There's this cheesy way that pundits troll for an angle -- they try to frame a story on something ennobling, so it won't look like they're taking potshots (pun intended) at the veep while he's down. It's lowbrow fascination masquerading as high-minded principle, equivalent to news stations running an item about Pamela Anderson's boycott of the Kentucky Derby because of her animal-rights activism, when the real goal is to show B-roll of Anderson half-naked and undulating.

Cheney is reviled because he doesn't kiss the feet of the narcissistic media scavengers who believe the First Amendment establishes them as royalty who must be catered to, fawned over and accorded immunity for their own abominable behavior.

Rasmussen asked whether the accident "raises serious questions about his ability to serve as Vice President," or was "just one of those very embarrassing things that happens to all of us."
The result: 27% say it "raises serious questions," while more than twice as many, 57%, say it was "just one of those things." The press corps whiffs again.

Wouldn't it be great if Pres. Bush, knowing that Cheney isn't going to run for President, has Cheney resign over the matter at hand, then replaces the VP with his own annointed pick as successor to his presidency. That would be SO ironic for the liberal media. Gawd!!! I'd love to see that!
