"An Inconvenient Truth" In Court- Fear Sells

Sighting nine distortions and inaccuracies,
Judge rules Gore climate film requires guidance notes...

The New York Times, Sept. 18, 1924, issue headlined "Arctic Explorer Donald MacMillan Reports signs of New Ice Age."
By 1933, The New York Times had switched to a different campaign, global warming. In fact, 1934 was actually the warmest year in the history of recorded temperature since 1888.
By 1975 The New York Times was back promoting another ice age. Time Magazine and Newsweek were in lock-step as other major publications of the dominant media joined in the chorus.
The founders of Earth Day in April 1970 began a watershed period for a new breed of envirocrat, fresh out of the hippie era of the 1960s. This new breed engineered an "ice age" scenario of major proportions.
The Washington Post headline “Colder winters herald dawn of new Ice Age” led into an article by Climatologist Reid Bryson, who said, “There’s no relief in sight.”
The "ice age" lasted until the late 1980s when the present global warming movement took hold.

ABCNEWS: Clarence Thomas: Progressives worse than Southern Racists...
It was a good 60 Minutes episode
"These people who claim to be progressive … have been far more vicious to me than any southerner," Thomas says, "and it is purely ideological."
Thomas talks about the virulent racism he encountered growing up in the segregated South, when blacks were considered second-class citizens and kept separate from whites by law, and he equates those attitudes with the stereotypes he believes people hold today.
"People get bent out of shape about the fact that when I was a kid, you could not drink out of certain water fountains. Well, the water was the same. My grandfather always said that, 'The water's exactly the same.' But those same people are extremely comfortable saying I can't drink from this fountain of knowledge," Thomas says. "They certainly don't see themselves as being like the bigots in the South. Well, I've lived both experiences. And I really don't see that they're any different from them."

Congress Denounces Iranian President proving that they don't dissaprove of our prescence in Iraq as much as they say they do. They've been doing nothing more than making political "hay" out of it for the sake of regaining the presidency in '08. Iranians Condemn US Reception of Leader...
But I know more level-headed Iranians that think otherwise.

Israeli President Shimon Peres on Tuesday criticized a U.S. university for hosting Iran's president, comparing the event to attempts to engage Adolf Hitler in dialogue before World War Two. It's worse than that though....Be for World War II, no one knew how depraved Hitler would get. Today, we have a very good idea just how atrocious a man like Aquavelvajad can be. Yet! we still give him a forum IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!! While at the same time, shutting down speeches of our very own citizens (to whom Freedom of Speech is actually given) simply because we disagree with their scientific data let alone views and actions. This reveals the disingenuiness of those that use a right of citizenry improperly towards foreigners who kill our cititzens.

Boycott Iran

Companies that do business with Iran:

Hyundai: South Korea’s Hyundai supports Iran by supplying it with energy-related construction and development help, manufacturing components and ship maintenance. Among its other mega-deals with Iran, Hyundai recently signed a $1 billion contract along with Daewoo to build oil tankers for the regime. [22] cars

LG Engineering and Construction Co.: In 2002, South Korea’s LG Engineering and Construction Co. signed a $1.6 billion deal for a gas processing plant project in the South Pars gas fields. The company has a 45.3 stake in the deal that allows it to claim $700 million of the total project cost. [24] electronics (TV’s)

Royal Dutch Shell: In 1999, The Dutch-British energy giant, Royal Dutch Shell spent over $800 to develop two Iranian offshore oil fields. Royal Dutch Shell together with Spain’s Repsol recently signed an agreement that could result in a $10 billion contract to develop sections 13 and 14 of Iran’s South Pars gas field. [31] Oil companies

Siemens AG: Siemens AG helped build Iran’s nuclear reactor in Bushehr but officially stopped working on the site after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Siemens AG is currently active in Iranian telecommunications, high-tech, automotive and power industries. Siemens also trades with other rogue states including Sudan and Syria. [32] tons of stuff

All these have products we can choose to boycott here in the U.S.

Amsterdam draws curtain on sex industry as red light windows close...
Looks like the liberal shangri la is disintegrating. But is it too late for the US to learn the lesson and reverse the course of imitating Europe by returning to common sense? Alas, a little too lttle, a little too late. Socialism still marches forward in this country by small, incrememtal steps; college students, media, Hollywood figures continue to beat the drum of change-for-change-sake (as long as it's change we haven't experienced yet), Dems continue to show their willingness to achieve their "righteous" goals by any and every means possible. When protesters and Democrate Senators alike justify everything they do and say with "Freedom of Speech" and at the same time do everything including threaten violence to silence the speech of those they disa gree with, we've got BIG problems people. There is a difference between intelligence and wisdom. The collegiate, hollwood elite and drive-by media have NOT figured that out yet. Next?
a liberal power grab of tyranny to a one party government, anarchy looms, and civil war ensues. Mark my words.
What's this have to do with Amsterdam? Not a thing. but needed to be said. Crush the smug class.

Greenspan Clarifies

Alan Greenspan, the former Federal Reserve chairman, said in an interview that the removal of Saddam Hussein had been "essential" to secure world oil supplies, a point he emphasized to the White House in private conversations before the 2003 invasion of Iraq..........."I was not saying that that's the administration's motive," Greenspan said in an interview Saturday, "I'm just saying that if somebody asked me, 'Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?' I would say it was essential..............Given that, "I'm saying taking Saddam out was essential," he said. But he added that he was not implying that the war was an oil grab."

In covering the 2008 presidential campaign, the network morning news shows are "overwhelmingly focused on Democrats, [and] they are actively promoting the Democrats' liberal agenda," according to a study released today by the conservative Media Research Center (MRC).The study examined 517 campaign segments on the morning news shows broadcast on ABC, CBS and NBC in the first seven months of 2007. It found that the shows covered Democrats "nearly twice as much" as Republicans and framed interview questions from a liberal perspective most of the time.

People who come into the United States illegally and then become victims of crime may get special protection from the U.S. government. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Wednesday announced an interim final rule that grants "temporary immigration benefits" to crime victims who assist government officials in investigating or prosecuting the criminal activity.

The only problem with this is that it encourages false reports of crimes and adds to the over burdened and understaffed (thanks Pelosi and Reid) court system.

Doing that wudu that they do so well

Yesterday's Washington Times included Andrea Billups's excellent story on the installation of footbaths for Muslim students at the University of Michigan Dearborn. Billups reports that the footbaths "were requested as an accommodation by a Muslim Student Association's task force." The object of the demand for footbaths is to secure the expenditure of public funds to support Islam. The phenomenon is insidious.

A little background on the MSA should provide a clue. Founded in 1963 by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, the MSA is, according to Stephen Schwartz, MSA "a key element in the Wahhabi lobby, and a cornerstone of the conspiracy by Saudi-backed extremists to control American Islam, as well the public discourse about Islam in America." It appears to be closely linked to the Islamic Society of North America, a key unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation prosecution. Joe Kaufman's "MSA: The missing co-conspirator" provides background.

During last week's program, Amanpour also conducted a friendly interview about Israel with former President Jimmy Carter, whose most recent book, "Palestine: Peace, not Apartheid," criticized the Jewish state's treatment of Palestinians. The book was slammed for a series of falsehoods and was widely labeled anti-Israeli by a number of media critics.

The Second Temple which was destoryed in 70 A.D. found under the Al-Aqsa mosque (built in 685 A.D.). Will the Muslims destroy it? Will Israel fight for it?
JERUSALEM (AP) - Hundreds of angry worshippers threw stones at police and scuffled with them on Friday in an eruption of outrage over contentious Israeli renovation work at a disputed holy site in Jerusalem's Old City.

About 200 police streamed on to the hilltop compound known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount, to try to quell the violence, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said. Witnesses said police hurled stun grenades.

Several dozen protesters barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa mosque at the compound, which is Islam's third-holiest site. The Protesters are angry about Israeli repair work on an earthen ramp leading to the hilltop compound, which they fear will damage the mosque.

Israeli security forces tripled their usual numbers around the Old City Friday morning, expecting confrontations. Jerusalem police chief Ilan Franco told Israel Radio that around 3,000 security officers were posted around the city because of "intelligence indications" that disturbances could erupt.

Hey Nooj!!! ROFL
SHOCK VIDEO: Rocker Goes Off On Obama, Hillary And Arnold -- With Machine Guns In hand! **Warning: Contains Graphic Language**

Crazy Uncle Howard

Years of bad data corrected; 1998 no longer the warmest year on recordhttp://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=8383
My earlier column this week detailed the work of a volunteer team to assess problems with US temperature data used for climate modeling. One of these people is Steve McIntyre, who operates the site climateaudit.org. While inspecting historical temperature graphs, he noticed a strange discontinuity, or "jump" in many locations, all occurring around the time of January, 2000. These graphs were created by NASA's Reto Ruedy and James Hansen (who shot to fame when he accused the administration of trying to censor his views on climate change). Hansen refused to provide McKintyre with the algorithm used to generate graph data, so McKintyre reverse-engineered it. The result appeared to be a Y2K bug in the handling of the raw data.
McKintyre notified the pair of the bug; Ruedy replied and acknowledged the problem as an "oversight" that would be fixed in the next data refresh. NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place. 1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II. Anthony Watts has put the new data in chart form, along with a more detailed summary of the events. The effect of the correction on global temperatures is minor (some 1-2% less warming than originally thought), but the effect on the U.S. global warming propaganda machine could be huge. Then again -- maybe not. I strongly suspect this story will receive little to no attention from the mainstream media.

Since the start of the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan , the sacrifice has been enormous. In the time period from the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 through now, we have lost a total of 3,140 soldiers. As tragic as the loss of any soldier is, consider this: below is a list of deaths of soldiers while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2004:

FIGURES ARE CONFIRMED ON DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SITE

1980 2,392

1981 2,380

1982 2,319

1983 2,465

1984 1,999

1985 2,252

1986 1,984

1987 1,983

1988 1,819

1989 1,636

1990 1,507

1991 1,787

1992 1,293

1993 1,213

1994 1,075

1995 1,040

1996 974

1997 817

1998 827

1999 796

2000 758

2004 1,887 900*

2005 919*

2006 920*

* Figures are Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom fatalities only

Does this really mean that the loss from the two current conflict in the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during King Clinton's presidency? Were we at war?

Now, are you confused when you look at these figures? I was. Especially when I saw that in 1980, during the reign of President "Nobel Peace Prize" himself, there were 2,392 military fatalities of U.S. soldiers.

What this clearly indicates is that our media and our liberal politicians pick and choose. The choose NOT to present the facts.

Another fact our left media and politicians like to slant is that these brave men and women losing their lives are minorities. The latest census shows the following:

European decent (white) 69.12%

Hispanic 12.5%

African American 12.3%

Asian 3.7%

Native American 1.0%

Other 2.6%

Now, the fatalities over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom are:

European decent (white) 74.31%

Hispanic 10.74%

African American 9.67%

Asian 1.81%

Native American 1.09%

Other 2.33%

Please, don't just take my word, see for yourself:

Where is the outcry of all the fatalities from druken drivers each day in this country.

Intifada NYC

Things are heating up with the tax-dollar funded Islamic public school in NYC that I blogged about earlier this year:

August 6, 2007 — Activists with ties to the principal of the city’s controversial new Arabic-themed school are hawking T- shirts that glorify Palestinian terror, The Post has learned.
The inflammatory tees boldly declare “Intifada NYC” - apparently a call for a Gaza-style uprising in the Big Apple.
The organization selling the shirts, Arab Women Active in Art and Media, shares office space on Brooklyn’s Third Avenue with the Saba Association of American Yemenis.
Dhabah “Debbie” Almontaser, principal of the Khalil Gibran International Academy - which is scheduled to open in Brooklyn next month - is a board member and spokeswoman for Saba.

At first defending these T's, then backing down

Investors Business Daily's editors wonder why Democrats in Congress want to make it easier for terrorists to attack our transportation infrastructure. That's the result of their below-the-radar attack on the John Doe protections that the House passed in the transportation bill in a bipartisan vote, but which Democrats have removed in the conference report: (more)

Rebellion In the Ranks

The London Times reports on defections among Iraqi al Qaeda members in Baghdad:

Fed up with being part of a group that cuts off a person’s face with piano wire to teach others a lesson, dozens of low-level members of al-Qaeda in Iraq are daring to become informants for the US military in a hostile Baghdad neighbourhood.

The ground-breaking move in Doura is part of a wider trend that has started in other al-Qaeda hotspots across the country and in which Sunni insurgent groups and tribal sheikhs have stood together with the coalition against the extremist movement.

“Al-Qaeda’s days are numbered and right now he is scrambling,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Stephen Michael, who commands a battalion of 700 troops in Doura.

A key factor is that local people and members of al-Qaeda itself have become sickened by the violence and are starting to rebel, Lieutenant-Colonel Michael said. “The people have got to deny them sanctuary and that is exactly what is happening.”

Currently, there are two tides running in opposite directions: a trend toward success on the ground in Iraq, and a seemingly inexorable drive toward defeat, or will to lose, in Congress.

Anyone concerned about global warming should quit looking at industry and SUV's as the source. Clearly the Earth cries out for vengeance and justice for the millions of innocent lives murdered every year in the name of "Choice." There's no way a planet can survive with that kind of thing going on. Sin is not inconsequential.

"Frankly, Michael Moore is an example of why the health care system costs so much in this country. He clearly is one of the reasons that we have a very expensive system. I know that from my own personal experience," said Huckabee, who lost more than 110 pounds and became an avid runner after he was diagnosed with diabetes.
"I know how much more my health care cost when I didn't take care of myself than when I do take care of myself, not only in terms of doctor visits but regular diseases, illnesses, chronic things that come up, monthly prescription bills....All of those things have gone dramatically down since I've taken care of myself and worked to live a healthier lifestyle."

DeLay Wins Appeal

Tom DeLay’s Statement on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals

Decision to Uphold the Dismissal of Indictments

“The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals today ruled that I was wrongfully indicted by Ronnie Earle, the Mike Nifong of Texas, on laws that didn’t even exist. The court affirmed the decision to throw out the conspiracy indictments because they were based on laws that weren’t even on the books. What Ronnie Earle accomplished is no rookie error – it’s a political attack using our legal system as the primary weapon.

“Ronnie Earle’s politically motivated indictments cost Republicans the leader of their choice, and my family hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. The damage he has done to my family and my career cannot be rectified, but the courts have recognized a significant portion of the injustice and ruled accordingly. For nearly two years I have been willing and eager to go to trial and with this ruling, we are thankfully closer to that day.

“Ronnie Earle may think this case is about campaign finance, but in the end it will be a case about his own prosecutorial misconduct.”

There's one overlooked lesson that the recent problems in London and Glascow shows us. That is how their healthcare system must recruit physicians who are willing to work for such low wages that they can only draw from third world sources. Does Hillary realize that her plan would drive American doctors out of the system and neccesitate outsourcing to similar counties (Egypt, Pakistan, etc.)?

Ann Coulter IN Context-A comment About What Bill Maher Said

I wouldn't insult gays by comparing them to John Edwards. That would be mean. Bill Maher was not joking in saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. So I've learned my lesson. If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assasination plot.

“Somewhere in our growing up we began to be aware of the meaning of days and with that awareness came the birth of patriotism. July Fourth is the birthday of our nation. I believed as a boy, and believe even more today, that it is the birthday of the greatest nation on earth... In recent years, however, I’ve come to think of that day as more than just the birthday of a nation. It also commemorates the only true philosophical revolution in all history. Oh, there have been revolutions before and since ours. But those revolutions simply exchanged one set of rules for another. Ours was a revolution that changed the very concept of government. Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people. We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should. Happy Fourth of July.” —Ronald Reagan

How Enron Worked The President
This is a piece of interesting information you don't hear much about.
A. Enron's chairman did meet with the president and the vice president in the oval office.
B. Enron gave $420,000 to the Presidents party over three years.
C. It donated $100,000 to the president's inauguration festivities.
D. The Enron chairman stayed at the White House 11 times....
E. The corporation had access to the administration at its highest level and even enlisted the Commerce and 20 State Departments to grease deals for it.
F. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import bank subsidized Enron for $600 million in just one transaction! SCANDALOUS!
G. But. . . . the president under whom all this happened wasn't George W. Bush.
SURPRISE! . .It was Bill Clinton!
“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.” —Samuel Adams
